Demand For Separate District, Over 30 Injured In Clashes In Nowshera

Law enforcement say protesters resorted to extreme stone pelting in the border town of Nowshera in Jammu

Jammu:  At least 30 folks have been wounded right after clashes broke out at Nowshera, in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, about escalating demand from customers of district standing for the border town. Protesters threw stones at police personnel, who had to use teargas to disperse the mob.Very last week, the Jammu and Kashmir authorities, in a substantial move, had upgraded the posts of sub-divisional magistrates to more Deputy Commissioners, in a few sub-divisions of Rajouri district – Nowshera, Kalakote and Sunderbani. Mr Chowdhary was strike on his head right after protesters hurled glass bottles at him.

An more superintendent of police, two deputy police superintendents, a station home officer and two sub-inspectors were being among the wounded, say neighborhood media stories.

Cell web services have been suspended in the spot right after Saturday’s clashes. The Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri and senior police officers are holding talks with the protesters, the police claimed.
