NEW DELHI: The Centre on Monday reviewed the progress of ongoing roadways and other infrastructure assignments in Arunachal Pradesh in the wake of current stand-off with China, a house ministry official stated.
“We have talked about about the roadways and other infrastructure together the border,” Gen Rawat explained to reporters right after the hour-very long meeting.
Arunachal Pradesh shares 1,126 km border with China of the complete 3,488 km very long India-China border.
To redress the condition arising out of absence of infrastructure together the border with China, the central federal government has made a decision to undertake design of 73 roadways of operational importance together the ahead regions.
Out of these 73 roadways, 27 roadways involving 804.93 km size are being constructed by Ministry of House Affairs in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh at an estimated price of Rs 1,937 crore, a house ministry official stated.
The perform of design of these 27 roadways has been assigned to the Border Roads Organisation (15 roadways), Central Community Works Division in addition to other people.
Out of 27 roadways, 8 roadways have been accomplished. Two roadways are taken care of by the Ministry of Defence. Building perform of other roadways is in progress. As on April 30, 2017, 672.46 km of development perform and 409.53 km of surfacing perform has been accomplished.
