On November 3, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi dominated news after the 2, along with Manish Sisodia Deputy Chief Minister, were detained by the Delhi Police. The 3 politicians were not allowed to enter (RML) Ram Monahar Lohia Hospital, where the body of Ram Kishan Grewal ex-serviceman, was kept, to avoid “disruption of health services”.
#Kejriwal accused the centre of “gundagardi” while he live-tweeted his detention.
“Is it wrong to offer condolences to a grieving family? Govt must apologize for making the family of a soldier suffer” Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi tweeted.
Both of them were eventually let off but they took to Twitter to share their anger.
In one of the videos of #Gandhi that has gone viral on social media, he can be heard saying, “okay, it’s over”. The two leaders can be seen smiling, In a few pictures that made their way to the Internet.
People on social media are sharing videos and pictures of the Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi, criticising them of “playing politics” over something as sensitive as this.
The party’s national secretary, Shrikant Sharma said, “It seems they keep looking to do politics wherever such deaths occur.” What Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi are doing is nothing but politics over death. The Bhartiya Janata Party (#BJP) also hit back at the 2 accusing them of indulging in “politics over death”.
