AMRITSAR: Union Household Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday condemned the killings of 9 CRPF personnel in a suspected Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh and described the incident as “deeply distressing”.

Singh was here to unveil a statue of martyr Udham Singh at Jallianwala Bagh.

“Today’s IED blast in Sukma, Chhattisgarh is deeply distressing. I bow to each and every single safety personnel who attained martyrdom when serving the country.”

“My heartfelt condolences to the family members of these personnel who lost their life in Sukma blast. I pray for the fast recovery of the wounded jawans. I spoke to DG @crpfindia about the Sukma incident and requested him to go away for Chhattisgarh,” he tweeted.

9 CRPF personnel have been on Tuesday killed immediately after suspected Naxals blew up their mine-safeguarded vehicle in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma, all around a yr immediately after a dozen jawans have been killed in a related ambush in the district. Two other jawans endured injuries in the attack.
